Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and Total 24 Hours of Spa for Team Zakspeed

Team Zakspeed is boosting its involvement in GT racing: the experienced motor sports team will be participating in the entire 2017 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with two Mercedes-AMG GT3.

In 2016 Zakspeed had two successful guest participations in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup (Monza and Nürburgring).  This season, the team is taking part in the entire Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup season for the first time. Zakspeed is starting in the Pro-Am category.

The first of the two Zakspeed cars will be driven by Greek racing driver Kriton Lendoudis, Rui Aguas (Portugal) and the Argentinian José Balbiani. One of the three Zakspeed drivers of the second Mercedes-AMG GT3 has also been selected: 22-year-old Immanuel Vinke (Germany) collected solid racing experience last year in the GT4 European Series. Who will complete the trio of drivers alongside the young Bavarian will be announced after the official test days at Circuit Paul Ricard (March 13-14).

Peter Zakowski, team manager: “For us, the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup is an ideal platform for the GT3 customer sport. Obviously, one should never underestimate the competition, but our goal is to be a contender for the podium in the Pro-Am category.”
